No worries...
No worries, Neighbors...I haven't given up on this blog. I just do not have anything interesting to say.
However...despite famous radio personalities living on the street, we also have the privilege and honor of the noted Colchester Sun movie critic as a neighbor.

Ironically, the very week you point out my status with the newspaper I have been unceremoniously canned.
The new editor, Susan Reid, came on board at the beginning of this past week and she called me on her second or third day there (I've never met her or talked with her before this moment). She simply introduced herself, told me my work was "an expendable expense" and my "services would no longer be needed." Talk about a kick in the gut!
George Tyler, the previous editor had just met with me before the holidays to discuss expanding my role at the papers (including the Essex Reporter along with the Sun) to include regular restaurant reviews as well as live music critiques and a weekly television column as well as a "what's happening in the community" column. Instead, I'm told by a complete stranger that I'm basically worthless. Zilch Nothing. Nada. A dot. And just to make me feel even better, in this first issue without my reviews, she is running an ad for a full-time reporter for the paper. I guess she needs someone who she thinks can actually write.
Sigh.
